USER RESEARCH

Introduction: To create a design that meets user needs and stands out in the market, it’s essential to begin with comprehensive research. This ensures we uncover reviews, understand market demands, and align our product with user expectations. For this project, our research process will include:

Secondary Research : We will explore existing resources such as articles, online surveys, customer reviews, and other internet-based content to gather insights into market trends and user preferences.

Primary Research : To validate our understanding from secondary research, we will conduct interviews with real users to gain insights into their experiences, challenges, and expectations.

Final Idea: Based on these insights, we will propose a well-rounded solution that reflects user requirements, market trends, and innovative design principles.

User Interview 1:

Me: Hi, thank you for taking the time to chat with me today! Let’s start with a little background. Can you tell me about your current fitness routine?

User: Sure! I work out about 3-4 times a week. I mainly do weightlifting and some cardio.

Me: That’s great! How do you currently track your workouts or progress?

User: I usually just use the notes app on my phone to track weights and reps. For cardio, I use my smartwatch to log runs.

Me: Interesting. What do you like about your current system, and what frustrates you about it?

User: I like that it’s simple, but it’s not very organized. I sometimes forget to log my workouts, and then it’s hard to see my progress over time.

Me: Got it. If you were using a fitness app, what features would be most helpful to you?

User: Probably something to track both weightlifting and cardio in one place. Maybe even reminders to log workouts or suggested routines when I’m stuck.

Me: That’s helpful! Finally, are there any fitness apps you’ve tried in the past? What did you like or dislike about them?

User: I’ve used a couple. I liked how some had a clean design and progress graphs, but others were too complicated or had a lot of ads.

Me: Thanks for sharing!

User Interview 2:

Me: Hey! Thanks for joining me today. can you tell me a bit about your fitness journey?

User: Of course! I started working out a couple of years ago. These days, I try to exercise 4-5 times a week.

Me: That’s awesome! What types of workouts do you usually do?

User: I mix it up, mostly yoga, running, and some strength training.

Me: Nice variety! How do you keep track of your workouts or progress?

User: I’ve been using a mix of apps like one for yoga routines and another to track runs. Strength training, I kind of just wing it.

Me: Nice. How do you feel about using multiple apps? Is it working for you?

User: It’s okay, but it can get annoying switching between them. I’d love one app that can do everything.
